Safeguarding and Prevent
We are committed to safeguarding. Horizons College will ensure that it maintains the highest standards possible to meet its social, moral and legal responsibilities to protect and safeguard the welfare of all.
Horizons College takes its role in safeguarding, Prevent and E-Safety, the protection of young adults and promotion of their welfare seriously and considers this a responsibility of all staff. We have a safeguarding team, and all staff receive regular training in this area.
Following our Safeguarding and Prevent Training every September, we continue to cover e-safety and prevent in our tutorial themes.
We are working hard and making sure that our learners can be safe while with us or when they are out in the community or at home using their personal computers or smart devices.
Eden and Avon class will continue to emphasise the importance of British values through the learner-led coffee shop and citizenship programme.
Last term Dove class organised a focus day on British values by sharing their ideas with the rest of the college and creating a fantastic display. We will be continuing to share these values across the college.
We continue to embed Prevent training and how to implement this in everything we do at college. Getting parents involved too.
